Relationships Change After Awakening

I was recently asked the question “When you spiritually awaken why do the relationships of those close to you feel different?” Below is my answer to this question.

The more we awaken, the more we become sovereign beings and complete within our self. We are no longer emotionally tied to others in the same way we were previously. Our relationships with others become non-personal relationships. The relationships most people have with each other are emotionally, personal and emotionally binding. They become emotionally enmeshed with each other or what some call co-dependent where personal boundaries are diffused.

As we grow spiritually, we learn to balance our emotions and we let go of relationships with emotional dependencies because we value our own sovereignty and enlightenment above all else. As we awaken, the emotional ties to everything loosen, until we become free emotionally from others and the reality of the material. By freeing the emotional bonds we have with others, we make room for our higher self to become more prominent in our being.
